The FBI is investigating a 9/11 money trail that leads to a Saudi princess and a major Washington Bank. The FBI is currently looking at how Saudi Princess Haifa's money passed through Riggs Bank and ended up with 9/11 hijackers Khalid al-Midar and Nawaq Alhazmi. Princess Haifa is the wife of Saudi Arabian ambassador to the US Prince Bandar bin Sultan.
This week, Riggs Bank is expected to be fined over twenty five million dollars, for their improper regulation of client accounts.
The is the largest penalty ever against a bank and marks what Riggs admits has been a consistent failure to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, which requires financial institutions to report suspicious activities.
